- in the early 1950's, 5 boys were tragically murdered here. Their cries can be heard at night, lights turning on and off , and shadows and sounds of people walking down the halls. Their killer was never caught. A night janitor quit and refused to enter the building (even with police) after he claimed that he was mopping a hallway and after the air around him turned ice cold the lights went out, they came back on a moment later and what appereared to be blood covered the floor in front of him. He swore that he looked to his left and blood was coming out of a locker. The locker was said to be that of one of the murdered students. To this day, people have not been able to stay in the room that once was hers.

Gorham - University of Southern Maine - Things such as cold spots, footsteps, and objects being moved around happen occasionally, and more frequently in certain rooms than others. The most common things are stereos and TV's being turned on and off, clocks being reset right before students' eyes, and general harmless pranks like these.

Gorham - University of Southern Maine - The Robie-Andrews Dorm - Local documentation indicates that on the fourth floor of this building there was a suicide or murder in the early part of the 20th century when it was still an all-women's learning center. Students have seen the ghost on several occasions. The fourth floor also exhibits inexplicable cold spots and mild poltergeist activity. Students constantly hear footsteps moving around above them in a vacant attic. A student who lives near the attic stairwell said she felt someone grabbing her arm and her room seems to always be cold. According to legend there are 5 spirits in the building. One of which (the most active) was a female college student who lived in the 1800's. She committed suicide after her boyfriend left her when he found out she was pregnant.

So he ran to a nearby farmer's house and called the police, and when the police got to the car, the guy's body was dead next to it. Since then the name was been changed to Blood Town Forest for obvious reasons. You can hear all kinds of messed up things if you go out there, but be careful if you do because farmers that live nearby try to chase kids away from going in the forest. There is a big rock at the entrance that tells the entire story. A few kids have said that they have seen stuff out there.

The car went off the side of the road into a ditch and the man told his wife to stay by the car while he walked into town for help. When he came back, his wife was nowhere to be seen and now her ghost haunts the road and any passenger who travels it. Certain places will have thick pockets of fog and several townies have had spooky encounters with this young lady, who they have dubbed, "The White Lady." Her car is still located on the side of the road, down in the ditch, on its roof, untouched.

No one is sure what his name was but those who have seen him say he looks ghastly. In addition, the 3rd floor (attic) has a separate room reserved for housemothers over the years, and believed to be haunted by one of its last residents, Evelyn. She opens the door after it has been locked and bolted. She can be heard walking in the attic and along the back stairs to the kitchen. There in the cabin beheld a game room with chairs folded up around the room, however when the other kid wanted a look for herself, she reported something much different than that! 6. There aren't any entities in Thornton Academy looking for their next victim. There is however a ghost in the Dance studio. I don't know why the ghost is there, but a lot of strange things happen in there... What made you think there were entities in TA?

  8. Didn't you know that Rockland was known as the city of the dead I mean I lived there for the first 11 & 1/2 years of my life nd now I'm into all this crap. And the most haunted place there is Coughlin Park my friend has a pic of a gothic ghost or (spirit) meditating on her table. And it was part of it was built on an old farm burial ground, another part an old indian burial ground, and the other part an old civil war burial ground I mean try living there for 5 years of your life and not getting the heeby jeebies every time you turn around. And see or hear something the was hard to believe was truly there. And most of the houses that are still standing today there were built in the early 1900's or late / middle 1800's. So yeah! Well maybe Coughlin wasn't built on those but it was haunted by farm animals nd civil war people nd inians, so how else would you explain it? And not to mention guys in my apartment where I lived upstairs walking across the floors in the day time nd playing poker.

  11. The story you have under caribou high school is a true story but didn't take place at caribou high school. I was a student the year this happened but it happened at Presque Isle High School about 20 miles away. The students name was David Pelkey he was in my class. He was stabbed by a childhood friend at buzzy's store right across the street from the school. We all hung out there cuz we could smoke on the bike path which was directly behind the store. David and ricky had been friend since 5th grade and david was known as a bully ricky was one of those kids who didn't fight and was friends with david so he would protect him. They were fighting over ricky's long term girlfriend david had threatened to kick rickys ass the day before ricky was scared so he brought a knife and well it was a dumb decision. There were 4 stab wounds the first two happened cuz ricky had the knife in his jacket sleeve and david lunged on the knife the other two were cuz well he had already stabbed him twice. David made it almost into the school he made it to the front doors which is like 300 ft from where it accually happened. When you walk the bike path behind the old store which is no a residence it is eerie and odd you do feel like your being watched. I was friends with both students and attended Davids Funeral it was one of the biggest funerals i have ever attended. You can see Davids grave stone from the road by the cemetery he is buried in his parents make sure the lights are always on beside his grave. David is buried in Fairmount Cemetery heres a link to thier website.http://www.fairmountcemeterypresqueisle.com/map.html I am happy to see this in a haunted place i just wanted you to know you had the wrong school.

  18. reguarding the comment about the presque isle high school stabbing: i am a senior there, and i am a regular smoker on the bike path mentioned as the one behind buzzy's. a few years ago, around the time of the stabbing, there was also a dog that had been kicked and beaten to death, then hung from a tree along the same path. the dog had been buried on the atv trail less than 100 yards past the bike path behind buzzy's. it gives me a creepy feeling when i walk the trail to the gas staion beyond it. the only "watched" feeling ive had being on the bike path is of the cameras from the school. the camera that is pointing at the popular lunch time smoke section of the bike path happens to be the same camera that caught the dog's death years ago. as for the stabbing of the 15yr old, i dnt know much details about it, aside from what the school district has expressed to our student body. though i can honestly admit, when im at school, im frequently uneasy about being there. guess i never really thought much of his death there, as it hasnt been mentioned since my freshman year. when i served saturday detentions, most saturday mornings (for 3hrs, 7am to 11am) of the last 3 years, i had been frequently kicked out, left to wander the halls until my ride picked me up around 11. i do get this creepy feeling when i stand at one end of the empty hall, known to the students as senior hall. there is no doubt in my mind that my high school campus and/or the surrounding area is haunted in some way.

  19. River side cemetary in Lewiston maine is extremly haunted!! Me and my friends go there. I have been pushed, tripped, and my friend was scratched. We've seen dark shadowy images, and we've seen people standing in front of us then evaporate. the most creepiest was the baby crawling across the road. I was surprise to not see it on here.

  24. hello everyone, the old mid coast hospital on baribeau drive in Brunswick,Maine is haunted, the first floor where the emergency room was, is now several different assisted living apartments .
I worked there before and after it was converted and there is always a feeling of being watched in those rooms, and it's very cold no matter how high you turned the heat up.
and one day I was setting up for the client to return from dinner, just getting the bed turned down and setting up the toothbrush and clear as day a voice called my name ,I answered "in here" as I turned around to see who it was , and nobody was in the apartment but me I searched everywhere nobody was there.
and upstairs where the old operating room was ,is now a 4 seperate apartments and a long hallway, at the end of the hallway there is a community rec room with games and tv & couches ,I worked the night shift and while I would sit on that couch, out of the corner on my eye I would see shadows of people walking by,I thought someone was up so went into the hallway and could see down both long hallways and there was never anyone there. creepy,

  29. In Jay, there's a street called Davenport Road and it's apparently haunted by a young girl in a red dress. My great uncle lives on that road, up on a hill and my grandmother said that she had seen her and talked to her. She runs across the street and asked people if they have seen her dog and then runs off. I was told that her family lived there until she died of small pox, then they moved out west. I have never seen her but to drive on that road at night is really scary because it is so pitch black.

Even my great uncle's house is haunted with footsteps up in the attic. His son told me that his best friend didn't believe it so he slept up in the attic when he was over. He heard footsteps behind him so he rolled over. He didn't expect to see the floor boards right in front of his face to dip as if someone had stepped there.

My great grandfather (who lived in the same house as my great uncle) had found a lone grave stone off of Davenport Road and he noticed that it was crooked, so he decided to straighten it up and clean it a little before returning home. The next day he brought his brother and some other friends to show what he had found, but when they got there the stone had split in half (There were no storms, heavy winds, or anything). He told me that he never ran so hard and so fast in his life. He never went back there and I can't seem to find it though it's hard now since I don't want to trespass on someone's property.

  30. Portland, Hicks street, at least 3 ghosts. I lived there the last 3 years just moved. A child always running around on the top floor, playing with toys. a woman seems to be looking for her husband asking "hello" "where are you"? Then there is the late 30's year old man. He is not happy and is seems to be looking for the little boy, not sure if it is his or not.
We had light turn on and off, things knocked of of just about everything, voices, lots of things turning on and off. knocking on the door from outside, classes moving across the table, "angry" banging on tables at night. At times it felt very unhappy and we had to leave because it got to be happening almost once a week.
the people who lived there before had left a lot of books that had to do with talking with the dead and things. We brushed it off but after about 6 months there we started to think maybe they were doing something.
If you live there now. nothing happened to us only around us, but we only saw the mid 30 year oldman. He told us to "shhhhhh" and walked up to the top floor. As I said if you live there you can feel it in the house and you know something is going on. Do not open the door with the knocking, because after that things become much worse for us and we felt we would be better off in a new home.
